Sveti Stefan is a luxurious resort in Montenegro, on the cost of the Adriatic sea. In a 15th century this tidal island-town was a trading center of the area, closely connected with the Venetian Republic. In the 19th century the population, mostly comprised of fishermen, started to decline. By the 1950s, the rest of the residents were evicted and Sveti Stefan was transformed into a luxury town-hotel. The streets, walls, roofs and façades of the buildings were, for the most part, preserved, while the interior of the building were transformed to offer the most modern luxury hotel comfort.

From 1970s to this day, many celebrities visited Sveti Stefan, including Sophia Loren, Marilyn Monroe, Claudia Schiffer, Monika Vitti, Kirk Douglas, Sylvester Stallone, Ingemar Stenmark, Ronaldinho, Willie Brant, Bobby Fisher and Yuriy Gagarin.
